A 15-year-old girl died and three others were injured in a car crash in Kursk region. The accident involved First Deputy Governor Alexander Chepik.
A car crash in the Konyshevsky district of Kursk region has killed a 15-year-old girl and injured three others. Alexander Chepik, the region’s first deputy governor, was also involved in the crash.
Kursk Governor Alexander Khinshtein said the girl was a passenger in a car driven by her brother, who lost control of the vehicle. The car crossed into oncoming traffic and struck the vehicle in which Chepik was riding as a passenger.
Three others were injured in the crash: the girl’s brother, who had been driving, and two employees of the district newspaper.
Khinshtein promised that the causes of the crash would be determined through an investigation. Chepik offered his condolences to the victim’s family. "Being even indirectly involved in events that led to such a terrible tragedy is an enormous moral burden. I’m a father myself, but I can’t even begin to imagine what the family is going through right now," he said.
