Under 1.6% of voters cast ballots in Saeima elections by evening

Latvia's Central Election Commission (CVK) reported interim turnout figures for the 15th Saeima elections on Monday evening, September 28, at around 21:19. By that time, 24,504 voters had cast their ballots, representing 1.57% of all eligible voters.
The CVK noted that this figure is not final, as some polling stations are still compiling their voting data. As a result, the overall turnout figure may still change as election day continues.
Voting platform ran smoothly
The State Digital Development Agency (VDAA) confirmed that the electronic Elections Platform operated stably throughout election day and performed as planned. The agency's technical support team and call center specialists provided assistance to polling stations throughout the day, though only a small number of support requests were received, according to the agency.
The voting process continues, with final turnout figures expected once polling stations close and all results are tallied.
