The 24-year-old German was hurt in a preseason game against his former club, the New York Knicks. The injury occurred without contact. Concerns about an Achilles problem arose immediately after the incident, and the worst predictions have now been confirmed.

Charania reported that Hukporti will undergo surgery within the next 24 hours.
