An eyewitness video that has come to the attention of the news portal shows a worrying situation on the road from Baltezers to Jugla. In the footage, three motorcyclists are seen moving in traffic, weaving between lanes and at times riding only on the rear wheel. It is also noticeable that the motorcycles do not carry state registration plates, which points to possible violations related to vehicle registration. Such behaviour poses a serious danger to the riders themselves and to other road users, as their next moves are impossible to predict.

Under Latvian regulations, taking part in shared road traffic on an unregistered motorcycle carries a fine of 55 to 140 euros. If the motorcycle is registered but the license plate has been removed, the fine is 40 euros. Intentional riding on one wheel is classified as aggressive driving and is punishable by a fine of 70 to 280 euros plus six penalty points. The penalties serve as a reminder that reckless manoeuvring can come at a high cost.
