Adobe brings over 70 tools to Slack in new integration

Adobe has announced a new integration with Slack that brings more than 70 tools from its widely used software lineup into the communication platform. The added capabilities draw from Adobe Firefly, Adobe Express, Photoshop, Premiere, Acrobat, InDesign, Illustrator, Stock and Lightroom.

This broad set of features means users can complete a substantial amount of creative work without ever leaving Slack. The figure of "more than 70 tools" may sound familiar, since Adobe recently unveiled a similar plugin for OpenAI's ChatGPT that offers access to the same number of tools across its creative and productivity suites. The setup on both platforms appears to be nearly identical.

Availability and how it works

The Adobe app for Slack is now available to Slack Business+ and Enterprise+ subscribers across web, mobile and desktop versions. It follows earlier integrations with Canva and Figma, which were introduced in June when Slack first added support for the Model Context Protocol to Slackbot.

Notably, an Adobe account is not required to use the app, though signing in grants fuller access to the available tools. Once installed, users can simply message Slackbot with a task, and the bot will select the most relevant Adobe tools to carry it out.

Slackbot will be able to pull content from Slack channels and Canvases as well as from Adobe Creative Cloud assets. Potential use cases include converting spreadsheet data into visuals, generating marketing or social media content from templates, and applying bulk edits across large batches of images.
