The family of Mārtiņš Bilzēns has issued a public appeal for financial support for his ongoing treatment and rehabilitation in Latvia. Bilzēns sustained severe injuries during an expedition on Denali, the highest mountain in North America.
The circumstances of the accident have not been disclosed, but it is known that the climber is being transported back to his home country, where he requires extensive medical care and rehabilitation. The family is calling on anyone who can to help cover the costs of his treatment.
Denali, formerly known as Mount McKinley, is one of the most dangerous climbs in the world due to its harsh weather and icy conditions. Hundreds of climbers attempt to summit each year, but not all return without injury.
