Latvia's national airline airBaltic and its subsidiaries, which are covered by a voluntarily initiated Chapter 11 proceeding (a US court-supervised restructuring process), have filed their first monthly operating reports with the US Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York, the company announced. Such reports are a standard requirement in Chapter 11 and give the court and other parties information on the financial position and activities of the companies involved.

What the reports cover

The first reports cover the period from 14 to 30 September 2026, the first 17 days since the process began. All amounts are given in US dollars, with euro figures converted at a rate of 1.14 dollars to the euro.

The airline stresses that the financial data are preliminary and unaudited, meaning no independent auditor has reviewed them, so the information may change materially. The reports cover only the entities involved in the proceeding and were not prepared under International Financial Reporting Standards or US generally accepted accounting principles.

Limited comparability

The figures are not intended for direct comparison with airBaltic group's consolidated financial statements or previously published results. The airline also warns that, because the reporting period is short, the numbers should not be used to judge operating results in other periods or to forecast future performance.

What happens next

The company says it will file such reports every month throughout the process and publish the relevant financial information at the same time. It will continue to publish annual and interim financial statements under its regular reporting requirements.

airBaltic says flights continue according to the planned schedule. Existing tickets and bookings remain valid, passengers can keep buying tickets and travelling as before, and they do not need to take any additional action.
