airBaltic denies fears over cancelled flights amid financial concerns
airBaltic's CFO Vitolds Jakovļevs has rejected public concerns that discounted flight tickets could be cancelled next year, insisting the airline only sells flights it actually plans to operate.

Latvia's national airline airBaltic frequently runs ticket sales campaigns, such as "Cherry prices" and "Mega sale", attracting passengers with seemingly favorable offers. However, alongside ongoing questions about the company's financial difficulties and possible changes to its route network, some members of the public have expressed concern that flights bought at discounted prices might later be cancelled.
Company's response
Addressing these concerns on the show "Kāpēc" ("Why"), airBaltic board member and Chief Financial Officer Vitolds Jakovļevs stated that the airline does not sell flights it does not intend to operate. According to him, every route currently being sold to customers is part of the actual flight schedule, and the company plans to operate them as planned.
With this statement, the airBaltic representative sought to ease uncertainty stemming from the company's current financial situation and its potential impact on tickets already purchased. However, details on how exactly the airline's route network might be restructured were not disclosed during the broadcast.
