New recreation area with solar charging station being built in Aizkraukle
Aizkraukle is developing a modern rest area along the Daugava River with solar panel charging stations and loungers, set to open during the city festival.
Residents of Aizkraukle have noticed new solar panel charging blocks along the Daugava River near Stadiona Street, now accompanied by loungers. As previously reported, the site is planned to become a modern recreation area with a view of the river. The charging station is already operational, but the project is not yet complete – informational signs with usage instructions are still missing. The municipality urges residents to protect the new facility, asking them not to jump on the loungers or damage them. Aigars Zīmelis, the administrator of Aizkraukle city and parish, stated that the facility will likely be finished and officially opened by next weekend, during the Aizkraukle city festival.
