SIA "Aizputes nami" has announced that a new heating energy tariff will be applied in the town of Aizpute starting October 1, 2026. The company's set final tariff, excluding value-added tax, will be 91.08 euros per megawatt-hour, remaining in effect until September 30, 2027.

The company states that the tariff change is mainly linked to shifts in the cost of purchased fuel, as well as the need to incorporate unforeseen expenses into the tariff.

How the tariff affects bills

Since the tariff is calculated per megawatt-hour, the actual heating payment for each apartment will depend on the specific building and its actual heating energy consumption. This means the increase will not be uniform for all residents but will vary based on each building's consumption figures.

Changes to water services as well

Alongside the heating tariff, "Aizputes nami" has also set new tariffs for water services, which will take effect earlier — from September 1, 2026, and remain valid until August 31, 2027. The water supply tariff, excluding value-added tax, has been set at 1.66 euros per cubic meter, while the sewage service tariff is 1.80 euros per cubic meter.
