22nd International Cast Iron Art Symposium Takes Place in Aizpute
Aizpute is hosting the 22nd International Cast Iron Art Symposium, bringing together more than 50 artists from around the world. The highlight on August 7 will be a traditional cast iron pouring show and experimental music performance by the Tebras River.
The International Cast Iron Art Symposium is currently taking place in Aizpute, marking its 22nd edition. The event gathers sculptors, art students and metal art professionals from Latvia and abroad. According to the event's title, more than 50 authors from various countries are taking part.
The culmination is scheduled for August 7 at the end of Krasta Street, on the bank of the Tebras River. Visitors will be able to watch the traditional cast iron pouring show, accompanied by an experimental music performance. For over two decades, the symposium has served as a meeting point for artists working with metal, offering a chance to exchange experience and create new works.
During the symposium, Aizpute becomes a hub for cast iron art, bringing together both established sculptors and emerging talents. The event highlights the creative potential of this material and the importance of international artistic cooperation.
