Defense tech Hadrian raises $1.37B at $8B valuation
Hadrian, a defense technology company focused on automated manufacturing, announced Thursday it had raised $1.37 billion in new funding, valuing the firm at nearly $8 billion.

Hadrian, a defense technology company, said on Thursday that it had secured a fresh $1.37 billion funding round at a valuation of $7.87 billion. The round is led by a group of prominent investors including WCM Investment Management, Washington Harbour Partners, Valor Equity Partners, 137 Ventures, and Baillie Gifford.
Other participants include 1789 Capital, Morgan Stanley Wealth Management, funds managed by Apollo and T. Rowe Price, as well as CapitalG, Andreessen Horowitz, Founders Fund, Lux Capital, Altimeter, and others. About a year ago, Founders Fund and Lux led the company's $260 million Series C round, bringing total capital raised to roughly $2 billion, according to PitchBook estimates.
Unlike many defense tech firms, Hadrian is not trying to develop AI-powered weapons. Instead, the company operates automated manufacturing facilities designed to mass-produce components for vehicles already used by the military. In March, Hadrian opened a facility in Alabama to mass-produce submarine parts, marking its fourth plant. The deal, structured as a public-private partnership, was valued at $2.4 billion.
Hadrian's progress reflects a broader shift in the defense industry toward leveraging advanced manufacturing to streamline supply chains and meet growing demand for military hardware.
