Donations sought to support actor Kaspars Gods after serious illness
Actor and Goda Theatre founder Kaspars Gods needs support for his rehabilitation after a stroke. The public is being asked to donate to cover therapy costs.

Actor and Goda Theatre founder Kaspars Gods has found himself in a difficult situation after a serious illness, and his recovery requires considerable funds. Public support is therefore being sought.
Several months ago the actor's health sharply deteriorated, and reports emerged that he had suffered a stroke. Rehabilitation afterwards is a lengthy process that demands both great endurance and money.
What supporters say
Zita Lazdāne, head of the Public Relations and Marketing Division of Liepāja City Council, has urged people to stand by the actor, noting that from the Liepāja Theatre stage he has many times given audiences joy and moving moments. In her view, it is unjust that after giving so much to society, he must also worry about paying for his recovery. She stresses that even a small donation, together with other help, can mean a great deal.
Cultural journalist Henrieta Verhoustinska says she recently met Gods at the Liepāja Theatre. The actor told her that all is well, but that he cannot speak and must learn to talk again from scratch.
Spending so far
On social media the actor has disclosed that 3,369.30 euros have already been spent on physiotherapy at the Rūre health centre and music therapy sessions at Liepāja Regional Hospital. A further 102.87 euros went on medical equipment. The 978.56 euros remaining in the fund will cover treatment for a few more months, but the therapies will need to continue.
How to donate
Donations can be made to the Liepāja Open Public Foundation “Liepājas teātris”. Account number: LV59UNLA0050020244853. The payment reference should read: Atbalsts Kasparam Godam.
