Latvian climber Bilzēns, severely injured in Alaska, could return to Latvia in a month
Mārtiņš Bilzēns, who suffered critical injuries in a fall from Denali, is still undergoing treatment in Anchorage; donations have reached €112,000.

A month has passed since the family of Latvian climber Mārtiņš Bilzēns started fundraising for his recovery after a tragic accident in Alaska. So far, €112,000 has been collected through the portal "Ziedot.lv".
Bilzēns is the sole survivor of four Latvian climbers who fell approximately 300 meters from Denali, the highest peak in North America, during an expedition. After spending over 10 hours in the cold awaiting rescue, he was airlifted to a hospital in Anchorage in critical condition, where he continues to receive treatment.
It is expected that Bilzēns could return to Latvia in about a month, once his health condition allows.
