Latvian football club Auda failed to hold on to the narrow lead it had built at home in the UEFA Conference League qualifying third round. In the away leg in Albania, the team suffered a heavy defeat, conceding four goals and losing 1:4 to Tirana's Dinamo City.

Cash on the dressing room floor

After the final whistle, the Albanian players witnessed an unusual scene: the club's president entered the dressing room and poured out a bag containing cash onto the floor. According to the report, this was the president's way of showing appreciation to his team for defeating the Latvian side.

Tournament context

The defeat means Auda is eliminated from the UEFA Conference League qualifying tie on aggregate, while Tirana's Dinamo City advances to the next stage of the tournament. Auda had managed to secure a slim advantage in the first leg at home, but could not withstand the opponent's attack in the away match.
