The Karaburun Peninsula in southern Albania is a destination that travel experts compare to the Maldives. According to Granit Temaj, author of "Wild Guide Albania," it features some of the most beautiful beaches in Europe.

Although the coastline is impressive with limestone cliffs and crystal-clear waters, getting there is not straightforward. The easiest way is by boat, but adventure seekers can hike. Notable spots include Grama Bay, a nearly untouched area, and Dafina Bay with natural limestone caves.

For families, Temaj recommends Gjipe Beach on the Albanian Riviera between the villages of Dhermi and Himara. A short walk from the road makes it accessible for families. This destination is relatively budget-friendly and not yet overcrowded with tourists, unlike many popular European resorts.
