On July 8, the Latvian Ministry of Defense announced that in recent communications with the United States, it has received no indications that the US intends to reduce the number of its troops stationed in Latvia. The ministry said that the US administration has been in close dialogue with Latvia and other allies to align military capabilities in response to Russian aggression and growing security challenges outside Europe.

Recent rotations have taken place at the military bases in Ādaži and Lielvārde. According to the ministry, US troops will continue to be part of NATO's military presence in Latvia and the Baltics, participating in joint exercises. The ministry views this as an acknowledgment of Latvia's significant contribution to strengthening its own and NATO's security.

Meanwhile, in Estonia, most US troops have been withdrawn, but a new rotation unit is expected this summer. Estonian Defense Minister Hanno Pevkur said that the NATO Supreme Allied Commander Europe and the US Army commander in Europe informed him that the next US unit should arrive this summer and remain until the end of the year. However, the size of the unit is unknown, and there is no information about future years.
