The Latvian Ministry of Defense has announced that there have been no indications from the United States regarding a possible reduction of US troops in Latvia. According to the ministry, the US administration maintains close dialogue with Latvia and other allies to align military requirements in light of Russian aggression and growing security challenges outside Europe.

Recent rotations have taken place at the Ādaži and Lielvārde military bases. US soldiers will continue to be part of NATO's presence in Latvia and the Baltics, including participation in joint exercises in Europe. The ministry views this as recognition of Latvia's significant contribution to strengthening its own and NATO's security.

In Estonia, however, the situation differs. Most US troops stationed there have been withdrawn. Yet, as reported by Estonian public broadcaster ERR, a new rotation unit is expected this summer. Estonian Defense Minister Hanno Pevkur stated that NATO's Supreme Allied Commander Europe and the US Army commander in Europe have confirmed that the next US unit will arrive this summer and stay until the end of the year. The unit's size remains unknown, and there is no information about what will happen in the following years.
