Top-Earning State Officials: Bailiff Andrejeva Takes the Lead
For the first time in years, the top spot among Latvia's highest-paid state officials has changed; bailiff Indra Andrejeva now leads with average monthly earnings exceeding €60,000.

After several years, the leader of Latvia's highest-earning state officials list has changed. Previously, the top position was held by airBaltic CEO Martin Gauss, whose average monthly income last year was €69,900. However, this year, sworn bailiff Indra Andrejeva has taken first place, earning an average of €60,600 per month in 2024.
Second place goes to airBaltic's new CEO Erno Hildén, who assumed office on December 1, 2024, and received €57,200 in compensation last year. Gauss, who left the airline, no longer appears on the list.
Last year was particularly successful for bailiffs—45 out of 93 professionals in this field had average monthly earnings exceeding €10,000. In comparison, 39 bailiffs reached this level in 2023 and 35 in 2022. The Council of Sworn Bailiffs has explained that these declared earnings are before tax and business expenses.
To maintain diversity, only two bailiffs are included in the list of top earners, even though they would occupy 21 of the 30 spots if all were considered. Moreover, the list does not feature the country's highest officials—for instance, Andrejeva earns the President's annual salary in less than two months.
