Guardian invites readers' questions for Evanescence's Amy Lee
The Guardian is calling for reader questions for Evanescence frontwoman Amy Lee ahead of an upcoming interview, following the band's release of new album "Sanctuary".
It has been 23 years since Evanescence put out "Bring Me to Life", one of the standout debut singles of the 2000s. For frontwoman and chief songwriter Amy Lee, the track chronicled breaking free from an abusive relationship.
Since then the Arkansas-based band, largely built around Lee's own vision, has grown into a major force in rock music, shifting millions of records, earning Grammy wins, and helping redefine the genre's sound by weaving in classical influences and piano-driven ballads.
This past June the group released their sixth studio album, "Sanctuary", produced by Jordan Fish, previously of Bring Me the Horizon and now an established metal producer. Lee has described the record as addressing political turbulence in the United States, positioning it against tyranny, rights abuses and violence. A vinyl edition follows in September, and the band is set for a heavily anticipated UK tour.
Now the Guardian is opening its regular reader-interview feature to Evanescence fans, inviting them to submit questions for Lee.
