Andrejs Gražulis joins Italian club Cantu after recovering from injury

Latvian basketball player Andrejs Gražulis has found a new club after recovering from a foot injury that sidelined him for the entire previous season. The 33-year-old, 202 cm tall power forward has joined Italian club Cantu, which will compete in the top-tier Serie A next season.

Gražulis expressed his honor at receiving this opportunity and his eagerness to prove his worth. Club general manager Simone Giofrè highlighted Gražulis' extensive international experience, technical skills, and basketball IQ, calling them invaluable assets for the team.

Last season, Gražulis started with Virtus Bologna in the Italian Serie A before moving to Joventut Badalona in Spain's ACB league in April. He later signed with Turk Telekom Ankara in Turkey, but suffered a foot injury during the European Championship. In Badalona, he averaged 6.2 points and 4.1 rebounds in nine games. In the Italian Serie A, he posted 5.7 points and 2.6 rebounds in 16 games, while in the Euroleague he averaged 5 points and 1.4 rebounds in 21 games.

Before joining Virtus, Gražulis spent two seasons with Aquila Trento and two more with Allianz Trieste in Italy. He began his Italian career with Bertram Tortona in the second division. In Latvia, he played for Ventspils, Parma Perm in Russia, and VEF Riga.

Cantu spent the last four seasons in the second-tier A2 league, winning the title this year and earning promotion back to Serie A.
