Andžejs Kaševskis appointed as Kulbergs' adviser on EU affairs

Experienced diplomat Andžejs Kaševskis has this week become the new EU affairs adviser to Prime Minister Andris Kulbergs, the State Chancellery has announced.

Andžejs Kaševskis has this week taken up his new post as adviser on European Union affairs to Prime Minister Andris Kulbergs, the State Chancellery told the LETA news agency.

The Chancellery noted that Kaševskis' extensive diplomatic experience and deep understanding of the EU's political and institutional processes are expected to strengthen the prime minister's team in handling current issues and representing Latvia's interests within the EU.

Two decades in diplomacy

Kaševskis has more than 20 years of experience in the diplomatic service at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where he worked on matters related to the European Union, the Asia-Pacific region, and the promotion of external economic relations.

Before joining the prime minister's office, he served as deputy director of the EU Coordination and Policy Department. Kaševskis holds a master's degree in political science from the University of Latvia.
