Police in England have discovered a body during the extensive search for missing three-year-old boy Noah Woods. Superintendent Pearse said formal identification had not yet been carried out, but Noah's family had already been informed of the discovery.

A police representative said their thoughts were with Noah's family and everyone who knew him, adding that officers had been overwhelmed by the level of public support shown during the search effort.

Widespread public involvement

At least 1,300 members of the public took part in the search. Volunteers travelled from as far away as Birmingham and Hampshire to help. Noah was non-verbal and partially deaf, which added to the challenges of the search.

Search area expanded

On Wednesday, the search area was widened to include East Bergholt and Manningtree, across the border in Essex. Divers from the Metropolitan Police were also brought in to search Decoy Pond, a nearby fishing lake. The pond lies roughly 320 metres from the playground where Noah was last seen.
