BBC Sport analysts have assessed the performances of England players during the recently concluded World Cup. Ratings are on a scale of 1 to 10, reflecting each player's contribution.

Defenders Ezri Konsa (7) featured in every game, playing both centre-back and right-back, and scored in the third-place play-off. John Stones (7) started shakily but returned for the quarter-final and semi-final. Marc Guehi (8) was a defensive staple, impressing against Norway. Trevoh Chalobah (5) played only a few minutes against France. Jarell Quansah (6) made his major tournament debut, suffered an injury and a red card, but returned for the third-place match. Dan Burn (6.5) used his aerial ability to see out games. Nico O'Reilly (6.5) overcame early nerves to start five matches. Reece James (6.5) missed three games due to a hamstring injury but returned for the knockout stages. Djed Spence (8) was a breakout star, playing both full-back positions and winning a penalty against France.

Midfielders Declan Rice (7.5) battled fitness issues but gave his all, captaining the side in the third-place play-off with a goal and assist. Jude Bellingham (9) was England's talisman, scoring seven goals – a record for an Englishman at a World Cup. Jordan Henderson (4) became the first Englishman to play at four World Cups but broke his arm after the Mexico game. Elliot Anderson (7) started every game except the third-place play-off as the number six, but needs to be more controlling. Kobbie Mainoo (N/A) was the only outfield player not to feature.

Forwards Bukayo Saka (7.5) showed flashes of quality but lacked consistency, though he scored a hat-trick in the third-place play-off. Morgan Rogers (7.5) played multiple positions behind the striker and assisted Anthony Gordon in the semi-final. Anthony Gordon (8) started slowly but grew into the tournament, scoring against Argentina and providing key assists. Eberechi Eze (6.5) had a quiet tournament but contributed off the bench. Ollie Watkins (5) had minimal minutes. Noni Madueke (6) won a penalty against Croatia. Ivan Toney (6) was included for his penalty prowess and started the third-place match. Marcus Rashford (6.5) scored against Croatia and assisted Saka against France. Harry Kane (8.5) delivered goals, with six before the semi-final, but faded against Argentina.
