England's national football team defeated Mexico 3-2 in a pre-World Cup 2026 friendly match overnight. However, the victory was overshadowed by an incident that occurred after the final whistle.

Midfielder Jordan Henderson, who did not play in the match, joined his teammates to celebrate the hard-fought win. While trying to jump over barriers, he injured his wrist. After the match, England head coach Thomas Tuchel confirmed that Henderson was taken to hospital.

"This is a special night for us. But the feelings are mixed because I am tired and sad for Jordan, who injured his wrist and is now in hospital. It is quite a serious injury. The fact that Jordan is not with us does not belong to this evening. I don't know what procedures he will have to undergo," Tuchel told the media.

Henderson has appeared only once in this tournament so far, in a win over Panama, when he came off the bench.
