Anthropic and Blackstone Launch $1.5 Billion AI Implementation Company Ode

The AI lab Anthropic, alongside investment giant Blackstone and other partners, has unveiled a new company called Ode, specializing in implementing AI solutions for businesses. Valued at $1.5 billion, Ode is a joint venture that also includes Hellman & Friedman and Goldman Sachs.

Ode was born from Blackstone's observation that large companies lack the expertise to effectively integrate AI. It merged with AI engineering startup Fractional AI, which became the foundation of Ode. Fractional had previously partnered with OpenAI but ended that relationship after the acquisition.

Currently, Ode employs 100 engineers and works closely with Anthropic's team to tailor AI systems to each client's needs. CEO Chris Taylor believes Ode could eventually become a trillion-dollar company if it manages to maintain quality during rapid growth.

Ode will operate on a "Claude-first" principle, utilizing Anthropic's technology, but is not limited to it. The goal is to help companies transform their most critical processes and products using AI. It will face competition not only from OpenAI's The Deployment Company but also from consulting giants Deloitte and Accenture.

Ode's team consists of experienced engineers, over half of whom are former founders. The company plans to expand internationally while maintaining its high-quality services.
