Antonelli Takes Pole Position at British Grand Prix Qualifying
Mercedes driver Kimi Antonelli claimed the fastest lap in qualifying for the British Grand Prix on Saturday, ahead of Ferrari's Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton. The race is set for Sunday.

Kimi Antonelli of Mercedes secured pole position for the British Grand Prix on Saturday, setting a best lap time of 1 minute 28.111 seconds in the final session. Ferrari's Charles Leclerc was second, 0.175 seconds behind, followed by his teammate Lewis Hamilton (+0.347).
The remaining qualifying positions saw George Russell (Mercedes, +0.370) take fourth, Isaac Adjar (Red Bull, +0.635) fifth, and Lando Norris (McLaren, +0.766) sixth. Max Verstappen will start from seventh, ahead of Oscar Piastri, Arvid Lindblad, and Liam Lawson.
Earlier on Saturday, Antonelli also won the sprint race, beating Hamilton and Norris. Sprint results: Russell fourth, Leclerc fifth, Verstappen sixth, Piastri seventh, and Lawson eighth.
After eight rounds, Antonelli leads the drivers' standings with 179 points, ahead of Russell (136) and Hamilton (132). In the constructors' championship, Mercedes (315) leads Ferrari (215), McLaren (167), and Red Bull (118). The season concludes in early December in Abu Dhabi, after the cancellation of the Bahrain and Saudi Arabia rounds.
