Antonelli continues dominance

Mercedes driver Kimi Antonelli won the tenth round of the 2026 Formula One season at the Belgian Grand Prix on July 19. The 19-year-old championship leader secured his sixth win of the season.

Antonelli finished 1.952 seconds ahead of Ferrari's Charles Leclerc, with Red Bull's Max Verstappen taking third, 11.586 seconds behind.

Dramatic race incidents

Antonelli's teammate George Russell, who started third, slid into the gravel after being overtaken by both Ferrari drivers on the first lap and retired.

Seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton received a five-second penalty but finished fourth, 17.245 seconds behind Antonelli. A post-race investigation is pending into an incident where Hamilton collided with one of his mechanics during a pit stop.

The top ten included Oscar Piastri (McLaren, +18.988), Isack Hadjar (Red Bull, +23.307), reigning champion Lando Norris (McLaren, +24.014), Gabriel Bortoleto (Audi, +49.140), Arvid Lindblad (Racing Bulls, +50.406), and Franco Colapinto (Alpine, +1:16.037).

Standings and season

After ten rounds, Antonelli leads with 204 points, followed by Hamilton (159), Russell (154), Leclerc (126), Norris (103), Piastri (92), and Verstappen (91). In the constructors' standings, Mercedes leads with 358 points, ahead of Ferrari (285), McLaren (195), and Red Bull (151).

The season originally had 24 rounds, but races in Bahrain and Saudi Arabia were canceled due to conflict in the Middle East. The season will conclude in Abu Dhabi in early December.
