Lost person rescued from forest in Ape, carried out on stretcher
On Friday evening, the State Fire and Rescue Service (VUGD) conducted a rescue operation in Ape, Smiltene municipality, where a lost person was found in the forest and carried to an ambulance on a stretcher.

Around 7:30 PM on Friday, the VUGD received an emergency call from Ape in Smiltene municipality, reporting a person lost in the forest. Rescuers promptly arrived and, after searching the area, successfully located the missing individual.
The person was carried on a stretcher to a National Emergency Medical Service (NMPD) vehicle. The rescue operation concluded around 9:30 PM.
In the past 24 hours, VUGD recorded a total of 44 calls – seven for firefighting, 21 for rescue operations, and 16 false alarms. Additionally, no fires were reported that resulted in rescued, injured, or deceased persons.
