Apple AirPods Max 2 Now Selling at $120 Discount
Apple's AirPods Max 2 are currently available at a 22 percent discount across several major US retailers. The price cut brings them closer in cost to competing headphones from Sony and Bose.

Apple's over-ear AirPods Max 2 headphones are currently being sold at a 22 percent discount across multiple major US retailers, including Amazon, Walmart, and Best Buy. The reduction brings the price down by $120, putting the headphones at $429.
Notably, this discount is not tied specifically to Amazon's Prime Day event — it is available simultaneously across several independent retailers.
What's New in the Second Generation
AirPods Max 2 launched earlier this year, and while the headphones look unchanged on the outside, they include several meaningful upgrades. The most significant is stronger active noise cancellation, improved by a factor of 1.5 compared to the original model, which was already considered among the best noise-canceling headphones available.
Other improvements are tied to software and the new H2 chip, which replaces the previous H1 chip. As a result, AirPods Max 2 now include features previously limited to the latest AirPods Pro, such as live translation, adaptive audio, and conversation awareness.
The discount brings AirPods Max 2 closer in price to premium competitors like Sony and Bose, which are also currently offering reduced prices on their own headphone models.
