Apple iPhone 18 Pro: preorders already open, price starts at €1,479
Apple unveiled the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max on September 9, and the phone is already available for preorder on Amazon for €1,479 (256GB), with official retail launch set for September 18.
Apple held its annual autumn keynote on September 9, unveiling the new iPhone 18 lineup, including the compact flagship iPhone 18 Pro. The device is already open for preorder on Amazon, while official in-store availability begins September 18.
Price and colors
The 256GB model is priced at Apple's official rate of €1,479, payable in three interest-free installments. The phone comes in four finishes: glacier, silver, black, and a new burgundy-toned color, referred to as "bourgogne" by 20 Minutes but officially named "bordeaux" by Apple.
Display and performance
The iPhone 18 Pro features a 6.3-inch Super Retina XDR OLED display with ProMotion up to 120Hz. At its core is the new A20 Pro chip, which, according to BFM, delivers up to 40% higher graphics performance than the iPhone 17 Pro and includes two 16-core neural engines for AI tasks. The chip is paired with a next-generation vapor chamber that unlocks its full performance potential.
Camera and durability
The main 48-megapixel Fusion sensor gains a variable aperture for the first time on a Pro model — ranging from ƒ/1.48 to ƒ/4.0 — automatically adjusting light intake and depth of field without switching lenses. Optical zoom reaches up to 8x. The front-facing 18MP Center Stage camera, as noted by 20 Minutes, automatically centers selfies and group photos. The display is protected by Ceramic Shield 2, which Apple says is three times more scratch-resistant than the glass on the iPhone 16 Pro.
Battery and software
Under normal use, battery life reaches 24 hours, with a 15-minute charge restoring 50% of capacity. Apple states the iPhone 18 Pro Max received the largest battery life increase ever on a Pro model. Both phones run iOS 27 with the new generation of Apple Intelligence, which also introduces new parental control tools and Liquid Glass design customization options.
Alongside the iPhone 18 Pro, Apple also announced the new Apple Watch Series 12, Apple Watch Ultra 4, and an updated Mac Studio powered by the M5 Max and M5 Ultra chips.
