Apple's 'new' polishing cloth is identical — just $10 cheaper

Apple has quietly introduced a new version of its polishing cloth, and unlike the company's refreshed Mac Mini lineup, this release comes with a price drop rather than new hardware. As first noted by MacRumors, the cloth is now listed at $9, a $10 cut from its previous $19 price tag.

Beyond the price, little else appears to have changed. The product description still describes the cloth as made with "soft, nonabrasive material," matching the wording found in an archived version of Apple's old listing, which has since been removed from the company's website. The cloth remains compatible with the same extensive range of Apple products as before, including devices going back to the iPhone 5. It is described as able to "clean any Apple display, including nano-texture, safely and effectively."

Notably, the new hardware Apple launched alongside the cloth — the updated Mac Studio and Mac Mini models — isn't compatible with it, simply because those devices lack screens. However, users who pair either of the new computers with Apple's Studio Display can still safely use the cloth to clean that monitor's screen.
