Apple releases iOS 27.2, adding Apple Pencil support to iPhone Duo
Apple has released the iOS 27.2 update, which brings Apple Pencil stylus support to its foldable iPhone Duo. The update also adds a face-illuminating light for video calls and new features for Siri AI, FaceTime and other apps.

US technology company Apple released its iOS 27.2 software update on 26 October. It adds support for the Apple Pencil, the company's digital stylus, to the iPhone Duo, Apple's first foldable smartphone. Apple had previously said that Pencil support would arrive "later this year".
The update also introduces an "Edge Light" feature, designed to illuminate the user's face during video calls.
About the iPhone Duo
The device has a 7.6-inch inner display and a 5.4-inch outer screen, and the iOS 27 controls have been reworked to function across both. Many major apps, including Netflix, Prime Video and Microsoft Outlook, already support the extra screen space, although some still need work.
Other changes
The update lets Siri AI take suggested actions in Messages and expands Siri AI language support to include French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese and Spanish. According to 9to5Mac, Apple is also rolling out support for Google's SynthID AI watermark in Photos and Image Playground.
Other smaller changes include:
- User profiles are coming to the Apple TV app on iPhone.
- In the Apple Podcasts app, the "Up Next" queue is replaced by a "New Episodes" list, with a "Continue Playing" section just beneath it.
- A new Apple Music logo has been introduced.
- Group FaceTime calls now support dual capture, allowing users to show both the selfie camera and the rear cameras.
