Apple Seeds iOS 27 Beta 2 to Developers – Here's What's New
Apple has released the second beta of iOS 27, focusing on new Siri features like 'Write with Siri,' along with RCS enhancements in Messages, improved iPhone Mirroring, and AirPods Max 2 firmware updates.
Apple is pushing forward with iOS 27 development, seeding the second beta to developers today. The update expands on features introduced at WWDC 2026, particularly those centered on the revamped Siri.
Among the notable additions is 'Write with Siri,' which replaces the previous AI-powered Writing Tools prompt. On iPhones and iPads, a large 'Write with Siri' prompt appears above the keyboard, shrinking to just the Siri icon if users begin typing without invoking the assistant.
Other Siri improvements include faster performance and a 'coming soon' label for the Expressive Voice preview. The beta also brings RCS upgrades to the Messages app, introducing support for message reactions and in-line replies.
Additionally, iPhone Mirroring in macOS Golden Gate has been refined to fix issues from beta 1, and AirPods Max 2 now support firmware updates. As the official launch approaches, testers are likely to uncover further changes.
