Apple to Raise AppleCare Plus Prices for Macs and iPads
Apple is reportedly increasing AppleCare Plus subscription costs by $0.50 per month or $5 per year for new subscribers, while existing subscribers will see no change.

According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Apple is set to raise prices for AppleCare Plus plans on Macs and iPads. New subscribers will pay an additional $0.50 per month or $5 per year, while existing subscribers retain their current rates. For instance, a plan for a 13-inch MacBook Air will increase to $7.99 per month from $7.49, or to $79.99 annually from $74.99. These changes follow a similar price hike for iPhones last year.
The new pricing has not yet appeared on Apple’s US website or terms of service, and Apple has not responded to requests for comment. Last month, Apple raised prices on several devices including iPads, Macs, the Vision Pro, HomePod, and Apple TV 4K. Increases ranged from $30 on the HomePod mini to $4,200 on the M3 Ultra Mac Studio. CEO Tim Cook attributed the hikes to a global RAM shortage, stating Apple tried to shield customers but that the situation had become unsustainable.
Higher AppleCare Plus fees may help offset rising component costs. While iPhone prices remain unchanged for now, the upcoming iPhone 18 Pro lineup could see adjustments later this year.
