Apple unveils foldable iPhone Duo alongside new iPhones, Watches and AirPods
At its first fall event under new CEO John Ternus, Apple introduced its first foldable phone, the iPhone Duo, along with the iPhone 18 Pro lineup, updated Apple Watches, AirPods 5 and a redesigned Health app.

Apple held its first fall event under newly appointed CEO John Ternus on Wednesday, headlined by the company's long-awaited first foldable phone, the iPhone Duo, alongside several other new product announcements.
iPhone Duo
Apple's first foldable device features a 7.6-inch inner display and a 5.4-inch outer display. The inner screen uses an under-display camera for a nearly seamless look. Apple says the Duo offers up to 31 hours of video playback on the inner display and up to 44 hours on the outer one. It includes a 48-megapixel main camera and a 48-megapixel ultrawide camera with 2x optical zoom, and its hinge is built from Grade 5 aluminum with more than 100 engineered components. The iPhone Duo starts at $1,999 for 256GB and comes in two colors, with pre-orders opening October 16 and availability on October 23.
iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max
The new Pro models keep the same overall design but gain a major camera upgrade: a 48-megapixel sensor with a variable aperture controlled by six blades, aimed at improving low-light shots. New Pro camera controls include white balance, shutter speed, aperture and a histogram, plus the ability to apply cinematic effects to 4K video after recording. The iPhone 18 Pro starts at $1,199 and the Pro Max at $1,299, both $100 more than last year. Pre-orders open Saturday, with sales starting September 18.
Apple Watch and more
The Apple Watch Series 12 and Ultra 4 see no major hardware redesign but gain new software features, including "Audio Intelligence" tools that help users recall details from conversations, and "Sound Recognition," which detects sounds like sirens, alarms and a crying baby. Series 12 starts at $399 and Ultra 4 at $499. Apple also announced the AirPods 5, with stronger noise cancellation and stem-based volume control, starting at $129, and a redesigned Health app offering new insights and a "Health Age" score.
