Apple reportedly cuts hundreds of jobs across Siri and Vision Pro teams
Apple has eliminated more than 200 positions from its Vision Pro, Siri and AI integration teams as it refocuses on newer artificial intelligence efforts and upcoming devices. The company confirmed the cuts while noting new roles will also be created.

Apple has cut more than 200 jobs across several divisions, including the team behind its Vision Pro headset, according to a Bloomberg report citing sources familiar with the matter. Around 100 of the eliminated positions came from the Vision Pro team, which has struggled to gain traction since launch.
The remaining roughly 100 cuts hit the Siri team and a group called Intelligent Systems Experience, which focuses on integrating artificial intelligence into Apple's devices. Sources told Bloomberg the company is restructuring to concentrate more heavily on its newer AI initiatives and upcoming hardware.
Apple confirmed the layoffs to Bloomberg, stating it is working "to evolve our business to deliver the best experiences for our users." The company added that while new roles will be created as part of the changes, a limited number of existing positions will also be affected.
A turbulent stretch
The layoffs arrive as Apple navigates a difficult transitional period. The company has been working to strengthen its position in artificial intelligence, while a memory chip shortage tied to the broader AI buildout has pushed up production costs for its flagship products. Apple raised prices on Macs and iPads earlier this summer and recently launched a leasing program covering its major hardware lines, an effort to attract more customers while offsetting rising costs.
Apple is also currently pursuing a lawsuit against OpenAI, accusing it of trade secret theft.
