Apple TV+ subscription rises to $14.99 a month in fourth hike in four years
Apple has raised the monthly price of its Apple TV streaming service by $2, marking the fourth increase in four years. The change applies to both new and existing subscribers.
Apple increased the monthly cost of its Apple TV subscription from $12.99 to $14.99 starting Friday, according to reports from Deadline and Variety. The annual plan also rose, from $99 to $119.
The price change extends to Apple One, the bundle that combines Apple TV with the company's other subscription services — the individual plan now costs $21.95 per month, up from $19.95.
The new prices took effect immediately, and current subscribers will be notified of the change before their next billing cycle.
Fourth increase in four years
This marks the fourth time Apple has raised its Apple TV subscription price in the past four years, coming almost exactly one year after the last hike. The increase follows just weeks after the premiere of Ted Lasso's fourth season, and comes as Apple has been expanding its live sports offerings, including F1 racing, MLB, and Major League Soccer, alongside its existing lineup of original shows and films.
Earlier this year, Apple also raised prices across nearly all of its devices, and reports indicate the company is planning to increase AppleCare Plus subscription prices as well.
