AppleCare+ vs AppleCare One: which Apple protection plan to pick
Apple offers two extended warranty options — AppleCare+ for a single device and the newer AppleCare One for multiple devices. The right choice depends on how many devices you own.

All Apple products come with a one-year limited warranty out of the box. To extend that protection, Apple offers two subscription paths: AppleCare+ and the newer AppleCare One.
AppleCare+ for a single device
AppleCare+ remains the more cost-effective choice for owners of just one Apple device, despite a recent price increase. Pricing varies by model — AppleCare+ for the iPhone 17 Pro Max costs $14 a month or $140 a year, while the cheaper iPhone 17e costs $10 a month or $100 a year.
A subscription includes unlimited repairs for accidental damage, round-the-clock priority support, and service availability at any Apple Store or Authorized Service Provider worldwide. Additional perks depend on the device type: free battery replacement once capacity drops below 80 percent, and theft and loss coverage — up to two claims a year — for iPhones, iPads and Apple Watches. Since AppleCare is a form of insurance, service fees and deductibles still apply, such as $29 for screen damage repair or $149 for a theft or loss replacement.
AppleCare One for multiple devices
AppleCare One bundles all AppleCare+ benefits for up to three devices into a single $20-a-month plan. For owners of several higher-end devices, this can work out cheaper than paying for individual plans. For example, covering an iPhone 17 Pro Max, a 13-inch M4 iPad Pro and AirPods Pro 3 separately would cost $27.47 a month, making the $20 bundle the better deal.
The service is currently limited to the US, UK, France, Germany and Australia. Additional devices can be added for $6 each, but most must be no older than four years, while headphones must be a year old or less. Both plans also cover in-box cables and power adapters, and for iPads, one Apple Pencil and one keyboard accessory.
