Fairness of Song and Dance Festival Design Competitions Questioned; LNKC Rejects Allegations
The Procurement Monitoring Bureau has received complaints about the design competitions for the upcoming Song and Dance Festival, alleging potential conflicts of interest among jury members. The National Cultural Centre denies the accusations.

The Procurement Monitoring Bureau has received complaints regarding the design competitions organized by the Latvian National Cultural Centre (LNKC) for the upcoming Dance Festival. Specifically, the complaints concern the competitions for the grand performance and the wind orchestra concert. The complainants suggest that certain jury members may have had a conflict of interest when evaluating the submitted proposals.
LNKC rejects all allegations. The centre explains that the jury comprised industry professionals and that the jury members had no access to information about which artistic teams were behind the anonymous submissions. Therefore, according to LNKC, no conflict of interest could have occurred.
