Poll: 80% of Poles Believe Russia Benefits from Poland-Ukraine Conflict
A recent CBOS poll reveals that 80% of Poles think Russia benefits from the conflict between Poland and Ukraine, while 73% believe politicians deliberately fuel the tensions for their own gain.
According to a poll by the Polish public opinion research center CBOS, cited by RMF24 and European Pravda, the majority of Poles are aware of the political circumstances surrounding the Polish-Ukrainian conflict. 73% of respondents agree that Polish and Ukrainian politicians are fueling the conflict between the two countries for their own political advantage.
Furthermore, 80% believe that Russia benefits from this conflict. Meanwhile, 75% of those surveyed indicated that Poland and Ukraine should primarily cooperate in the face of the Russian threat, rather than focusing on divisive issues.
The poll also found that 52% of respondents think the two countries have more shared goals and interests than divergent ones, while 31% hold the opposite view. However, the question of Ukrainians' right to their own historical heroes divided Polish opinion.
Another poll showed that Polish President Karol Nawrocki's stance on Ukraine enjoys greater public support than the policy pursued by Prime Minister Donald Tusk's government on this issue.
