Poll: party support shifts ahead of Saeima elections

A fresh round of polling ahead of Latvia's upcoming Saeima elections shows movement in party support levels, even as the overall leader remains unchanged. The Unified List, led by Prime Minister Andris Kulbergs, continues to top the rankings, though its support has slipped slightly to 14.4%, down 0.8 percentage points from August.

Middle of the pack shifts

Second place now belongs to the Sovereign Power/Latvian Union alliance with 9.4% support, closely followed by the Latvia First party at 9.2%. The Progressives sit in fourth place with 6.2% backing among those surveyed.

The National Alliance currently holds fifth place with 5.6% support, up 1.1 percentage points compared to the previous month. An even sharper rise was recorded for the Union of Greens and Farmers, which climbed to sixth place with 4.8% support — a two percentage point increase from the earlier poll.

Small gain for New Unity

New Unity rounds out the top seven with 4.3% support, up 0.1 percentage points from August. Overall, the data suggests that as election day nears, support is beginning to reshuffle, with some parties gaining ground while others lose it.
