UK woman arrested in Thailand over alleged stabbing death of boyfriend
A 21-year-old British woman has been arrested in Thailand on suspicion of fatally stabbing her 34-year-old boyfriend at a luxury rental home in Pattaya.

Thai police have arrested a 21-year-old British woman in connection with the fatal stabbing of her boyfriend, local media reports. According to the Bangkok Post, officers discovered the body of a 34-year-old man, who operated a cannabis farm, in a luxury rental home in the Pattaya area on Thursday morning. Pattaya, a beachside region about two hours from Bangkok, is known for its large expat population and nightlife.
The man was found in a bathroom off the bedroom with multiple stab wounds. Police believe he had been dead for approximately six hours before they arrived. The suspect, the victim's girlfriend, was found sitting near the body. She initially claimed that her partner had injured himself, but investigators found inconsistencies in her story, the newspaper reported.
During the investigation, police discovered that the victim's body appeared to have been moved, and bloodstains and signs of a struggle were found throughout the house. A 50cm machete-like knife, which had been washed clean, was found in a sink.
Images released by Pattaya Cable TV show police at the property and the young woman with red hair sitting on a couch in a room with purple curtains. Another clip shows her being questioned by police outside the home.
Cannabis is legal in Thailand and widely sold in stores.
A spokesperson for the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office said: "We are supporting the families of two British nationals in Thailand and are in contact with the local authorities."
