American point guard Aaron Holiday has decided to continue his career in Europe, moving outside the NBA for the first time since entering the league. According to NBA insider Marc Stein, the 29-year-old has chosen to join Italian club Roma because he wanted a more significant role on the team, even though several NBA clubs had expressed interest in signing him.

According to Stein's report, Holiday's contract with Roma includes a clause allowing him to return to the United States at any time if an NBA team is willing to meet the buyout terms specified in the deal. This means his move to Italy does not rule out a potential return to the NBA in the near future.

NBA career

Holiday was selected in the 2018 NBA draft with the 23rd overall pick by the Indiana Pacers. He has since played for the Washington Wizards, Phoenix Suns, Atlanta Hawks and Houston Rockets. He spent his last three seasons with Houston, where in the most recent season he averaged 13.7 minutes and 5.5 points across 57 games.

Aaron Holiday is the youngest of three brothers who have all played in the NBA. His older brother Jrue Holiday is a two-time NBA champion and was regarded as one of the league's top defensive players, while another brother, Justin Holiday, also spent several seasons in the NBA.
