Latvian snooker player Žižins loses in Shenzhen Open qualifying second round
Latvian snooker player Artemijs Žižins suffered a 0-5 defeat to Chinese player Liu Hongyu in the second round of Shenzhen Open qualifying in Leicester on Monday.

Artemijs Žižins, currently ranked 112th in the world, faced Chinese player Liu Hongyu (ranked 56th) in the second round of Shenzhen Open qualifying in Leicester on Monday. He lost 0-5. In the first round, Žižins defeated English player Oliver Brown (ranked 91st) with a 5-2 score. The qualifying tournament consists of three rounds, with the final round to be held at the main venue. The Shenzhen Open main event is scheduled for late September. Žižins has already secured his spot in World Snooker Tour events for the 2026/2027 and 2027/2028 seasons.
