Artūrs Šilovs will remain with the Pittsburgh Penguins for at least one more season. The Latvian goaltender signed a new one-year contract on July 5, 2026, worth $2,800,000. The deal follows his previous two-year contract signed in 2024.

Šilovs was traded from the Vancouver Canucks to Pittsburgh last summer and competed for the starting role during the season. In the regular season, he appeared in 39 games, posting 19 wins. He had an 88.8% save percentage, a goals-against average just above three, and recorded two shutouts.

In the Stanley Cup playoffs, Šilovs helped the Penguins in their series against the Philadelphia Flyers, playing three games with a 93.9% save percentage and two wins. Pittsburgh ultimately lost the series 4-2.

In February, Šilovs represented Latvia at the Milan Olympics but missed the World Championship due to injury.

Besides Šilovs, the Penguins signed three other players. Forward Yegor Chinakhov, coming off a career-best season, inked a three-year deal averaging $6.25 million per year. David Gustafsson, previously in the Winnipeg Jets system, signed a one-year contract, and goaltender Joel Blomqvist received a two-year deal.
