Asus Cetra Open wireless gaming earbuds get their first-ever discount

Asus' Cetra Open wireless gaming earbuds, known for their open-ear design, have received their first price cut since launch. Both Amazon and Best Buy are currently selling them for $206.99, a $22 discount off the regular price.

Unlike most gaming earbuds, the Cetra Open's drivers sit outside the ear canal, allowing ambient sound to blend with audio from a console or other device. This design won't suit every listener, but it benefits those who want to stay aware of their surroundings while gaming or listening to podcasts.

Features and compatibility

Beyond solid sound quality and respectable battery life, the earbuds offer deep customization options through a companion mobile or browser-based app. They also ship with a USB-C 2.4GHz wireless transmitter that includes a built-in passthrough charging port, letting users charge their device while playing instead of sacrificing their only USB-C port for audio. That built-in port supports up to 60W of passthrough charging, though it cannot be used to transfer data.

The Cetra Open works well across a range of devices, including the Steam Deck, PC, Nintendo Switch 2, and PlayStation 5, as well as smartphones. They connect easily over Bluetooth for music and podcasts, and the package includes a reflective band that physically links the two earbuds behind the neck, improving visibility and stability during activities like running.
