Dan Negri, the US Deputy Representative to the UN, urged Russia to immediately resume talks and conclude a peace agreement during an emergency UN Security Council meeting on June 22. He emphasized that time is not on Moscow's side.

Negri stated that the United States remains steadfast in its support for the Ukrainian people and strongly condemned Russian attacks on critical infrastructure and cultural heritage, particularly strikes on the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra.

He noted that the war has lasted too long and must be ended through diplomacy. Referring to US President Trump's remarks at the G7 summit, Negri said: "Russia must make a deal. Time is not on Moscow's side."

The US representative also mentioned that Russia loses about 40,000 soldiers killed and wounded each month, and its economy is in a very difficult state. Meanwhile, Ukraine is actively introducing innovations on the battlefield.

"Diplomacy and negotiations, not further bloodshed, are the only answer. Nothing else will stop this senseless killing," Negri said.

The UN Security Council emergency meeting was convened at Ukraine's request, following a massive Russian attack on the night of June 15, when occupiers struck Ukrainian cities with dozens of missiles and hundreds of drones.
