US Fires on Tanker Attempting to Break Iran Port Blockade

The US Central Command (CENTCOM) spokesperson, Navy Captain Tim Hawkins, stated that US forces disabled a tanker after its crew attempted to break the blockade at least four times.

The crew was repeatedly warned but disobeyed. In response, US forces fired at the ship's engine room, taking it out of action. Following the incident, the tanker is no longer heading to Iran.

The US reinstated the blockade of Iranian ports on July 14 at 23:00 Latvian time. Previously, US forces blocked Iranian ports from April 13 to June 18. During that blockade, they disabled nine vessels and diverted more than 140, according to CENTCOM.
