US charges suspected Russian intelligence agents over alleged plot to kill dissident believed to be in Washington

US Attorney General Todd Blanche announced that federal prosecutors in New York have filed charges against several Russian nationals believed to have worked for Russian intelligence services. Blanche revealed the charges during a briefing at the White House, according to a report by ABC News.

The defendants face charges of financing terrorism and conspiring to carry out murders in various locations around the world. According to Blanche, the group had allegedly plotted to kill a Russian opposition figure whom they believed to be located in Washington.

Blanche did not disclose the identities of the defendants, nor did he name the opposition figure who was allegedly the intended target. He also did not specify when the alleged assassination plot was supposedly being planned.
